Coding is not difficult to learn. In fact, with a little time and effort, anyone can learn to code. There are a variety of resources available to help you get started, including books, online courses, and software programs.
The most important thing is to find the right resource for your learning style. If you prefer step-by-step instructions, then a book or online course might be the best option for you. If you prefer more hands-on learning, then there are several software programs available that will let you write code and see the results immediately. Whichever route you choose, don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. There are plenty of people who are happy to help newcomers learn the ropes.
Once you’ve learned the basics of coding, there’s no limit to what you can do with it. You can build websites, create apps, design games, automate tasks…the possibilities are endless! So what are you waiting for? Start coding today!
Come up with a simple project
Assuming you want a project to help you learn to code:
Pick a language- There are many languages out there and they each have their own purpose. Some languages are better for more complex applications while others might be more suited for more simplistic applications. It really varies depending on what you want to do. For example, C# is often used in game development because its syntax is very similar to C++ which is often used in game engines. If you’re starting out, it might be best to choose a language that is recommended for beginners such as Python. Not only are the rules less strict, but the readability of Python code makes it much easier for beginners to understand what’s going on. However, ultimately it’s up to you and what language you feel most comfortable with.
Tools- Once you’ve chosen a language, familiarize yourself with the tools needed to write code in that language. In most cases, all you need is a text editor like Notepad++ or Sublime Text (both of which are free) and a compiler if your chosen language requires one. A compiler converts human-readable code into machine-readable code so that your computer can run the application properly. If your chosen language doesn’t require a compiler then all you need is a text editor and you can get started coding right away!
Hello World Program- Now that we have our tools set up, let’s write our first program! In programming circles, this program is known as the “Hello World” program because it simply prints out the phrase “Hello World!” on the screen. This program may seem trivial but it actually covers quite a few important concepts such as displaying text and using basic functions specific to your chosen programming language. Once again, we won’t go too deeply into specifics since this guide assumes no prior knowledge of coding whatsoever but here is an example of what a typical Hello World program looks like in Python:
print( “Hello World!” ).
Get the software you’ll need
Assuming you want to learn how to code, you’ll need a few things:
First, you’ll need a text editor. This is a program that allows you to write and edit code. There are many different text editors available, but some of the most popular ones include Microsoft Visual Studio Code, Atom, and Sublime Text.
Next, you’ll need a way to run your code. Most programming languages require some kind of software that can take your code and turn it into something that can be run on a computer. This is called a compiler or an interpreter. For example, if you’re learning how to code in C++, you’ll need a C++ compiler like GCC or Clang.
Finally, it’s helpful to have access to online resources that can help you when you’re stuck or want to learn more about something specific. The website Stack Overflow is one of the most popular places for programmers to ask and answer questions online. Other great resources include the websites W3Schools and Learncpp.com.
